The Hungry Day

A big crowd sat on the grassy hill. They came to hear Jesus teach. The whole day went by fast. Soon the sun began to set. Everyone was tired and very hungry. But there was no food to buy.

A small boy had a little lunch. He had five small loaves of bread. He also had two little fish. It did not seem like much food. But the boy wanted to share it.

A Little Becomes a Lot

The boy gave his lunch to Jesus. Jesus took the bread in his hands. He looked up and thanked God for it. Then he shared the food with the crowd. The bread and fish did not run out.

Everyone ate and ate until they were full. There were even twelve baskets left over! One small boy gave what he had. A little became plenty for all.
