The Warm Loaf

Ada and her mother baked bread on a snowy morning. The whole kitchen smelled sweet and warm. Ada wrapped one small loaf in a soft cloth. She planned to eat it slowly by the fire. Outside her window, thick snow fell over the quiet town. Ada could not wait to taste the crust.

A Cold Traveler

After lunch, Ada walked to the town well for water. A traveler sat alone beside the icy road. His coat was thin, and his cold hands shook. "I have walked far, and I am hungry," he said. Ada looked at his tired eyes and gentle smile. She felt sorry for the stranger in the snow.

A Gift of Bread

Ada held her warm loaf close to her chest. Her tummy growled, but she did not eat. She thought about the traveler's cold and empty hands. Slowly, she gave him the whole loaf of bread. "Please take it and eat," she said softly. The man smiled, and warm tears filled his eyes.

A Full Heart

Ada walked home with cold but happy empty hands. Her heart felt warm, light, and very full. At the door, her mother gave her a hug. "You shared like Jesus taught us," Mother whispered. Long ago, Jesus taught a simple truth. A gift for the hungry is a gift for Him. This story remembers His words in Matthew 25.
