Pip Gets Lost

Pip was a small baby duck. He lived by a big blue pond. Pip loved to swim with his mom. One warm day, Pip saw a red bug. He ran to look at it. The bug flew up and away. Pip looked up at the sky. His mom was gone! Tall green grass stood all around him. Pip did not know the way home. He felt very small and scared.

The Way Home

Pip walked and walked in the grass. He looked and looked for his mom. He began to call for help. Then Pip stopped to think for a while. He heard a soft sound. Quack, quack! It was his own dear mom! Pip ran fast to the happy sound. He splashed into the cool water. His mom gave him a warm hug. Pip was so happy to see her. He would stay close from now on. When you feel lost, stop and listen.
