The Day

The sun comes up in the morning sky. It is big and very bright. The whole day feels warm and light. Birds wake up and start to sing. Bees fly out to the open flowers. A child wakes up in her bed. She eats and runs outside to play. The sky stays blue for many hours. Look up high and see the light.

The Night

Then the sun goes down very low. The sky turns dark and cool. A big moon comes up at night. Owls wake up high in the trees. They hop and hunt for their food. The child climbs back into her bed. The world is quiet and calm. Stars come out one by one. But the sun did not go away. Our round Earth just turned around. That is why day turns to night. The sun will come back very soon. Now close your eyes and go to sleep.
