Rainy Plans
Mina looked out her window at the gray sky. Cold rain tapped softly on the glass. She had waited all week to plant her seeds. Now the garden was wet and full of puddles. Mina sighed, but she did not give up. "A little rain will not stop me," she said.
Into the Mud

Mina pulled on her yellow boots and coat. She carried a small bag of flower seeds outside. The dirt felt soft and cool under her hands. She dug little holes and dropped the seeds in. Rain ran down her nose, but she still smiled. Then she patted the earth gently and went inside.
The Long Wait
Day after day, Mina checked her quiet garden. Nothing grew, and the brown dirt stayed bare. "Please hurry," she whispered to the sleeping seeds. The waiting felt slow, like a long, gray afternoon. Her mother smiled and said, "Good things take time." So Mina watered the soil and waited some more.
Green at Last
One sunny morning, Mina ran outside to look. Tiny green shoots poked up through the dark ground. They were small, but they were finally here. Mina laughed and clapped her muddy hands together. The rainy day had taught her how to wait. Good things, she learned, are worth the wait.
