A Sky Full of Questions

Every clear night, a curious boy named Theo climbed onto his family's flat roof. He stared upward at the scattered stars until his neck grew stiff and sore. To him, the sky seemed random, like sugar spilled across a dark wooden table. Yet Theo suspected that a hidden order waited quietly beneath all that confusion. He wondered whether a single boy could ever capture such vastness on paper. His parents smiled at his hobby, though they rarely understood his endless questions. Theo believed that anything repeating, night after night, must follow some kind of rule.

The Trouble with Remembering

The following evening, Theo tried to memorize the brightest points of scattered light. By morning, however, the delicate patterns had blurred inside his exhausted memory. He also noticed that stars near the horizon rose and set at different times. Without a written record, each night quietly erased the discoveries of the last. Theo realized that human memory alone could never hold such a vast puzzle. Frustrated, he understood that a passing glance could not defeat such careful complexity. The stars demanded patience, measurement, and, above all, a permanent place to live.
