The Sun Comes Up

The sun is up. It is a big day. I run outside. I see something dark. It is on the ground. It looks like me!

I lift my hand. It lifts a hand too. I jump. It jumps too. What is it? It is my shadow!

My Shadow Copies Me

My shadow likes to copy. I hop on one foot. My shadow hops too. I wave. It waves. I spin. It spins. We move the same way.

I try to trick it. I run very fast. But my shadow is fast too. It stays by my feet. I can not lose it. Silly shadow!

I sit down to rest. My shadow sits with me. I eat a red apple. My shadow has one too. But its apple is black. Shadows are always dark.

The Shadow Stretches

My shadow is so long. It is taller than Dad! It stretches down the street. At noon, it gets small. It hides under my shoes. Little shadow, are you tired?

I walk to the park. My shadow walks with me. It slides over the grass. It bends up the wall. Shadows can bend! That is so funny.

Where Did You Go?

A big cloud comes. It covers the sun. I look down. My shadow is gone! Shadow? Where are you? I look and look.

I feel sad. Did my shadow run away? I wait on the grass. The wind pushes the cloud. Go, cloud, go!

You Are Back!

The sun comes out. There is my shadow! It is back with me. It hides when clouds come. I laugh and dance. My shadow dances too.

We play tag with friends. Ben has a shadow too. Mia has one too. Our shadows run and run. They never get tired.

Good Night, Shadow

The sun goes down. My shadow gets long again. Then it goes away. It is time for bed.

Mom turns on my lamp. Look! A shadow on the wall! My friend is here too. Good night, shadow friend. See you in the sun.
